Away to Bonalba 2nd November
Having fought our way through the mist to Bonalba all rinks got off to a reasonably good start on a very damp green. As the greens dried out things became a bit more difficult and to the advantage of the home team. With the exception of the team lead by Derek Mawson with Christine and Ruth who managed to secure an early lead before struggling through the centre stages and then coming out on top with a score of 18/14. Considering the difficulties and strength of the opposition we did well.
JAGUARS AT HOME TO EL CID SABRES
Once again the sun shone but the wind decided to join us for the morning making bowling a bit more difficult than we would have liked. Nevertheless, everyone played their hearts out and we were very unfortunate to have gone down 9.1 as the shot difference was only 10. Well done Graham, Natasha and Chris, once again a good result managing a draw. Mal, Alex and Jack gave a very creditable performance against strong opposition only losing by two shots. Likewise the other two teams only lost by four shots on each of their games. As the Sabres are a very strong squad everyone should be very proud of the result.

BBC JAGUARS AT HOME TO JAVEA GREEN ONYX
19TH OCTOBER 2020
Once again we played in glorious weather and came away with a win 8 points to 2 – well done everybody. The teams skipped by Derek Mawson and John Avey both had very good wins and the team skipped by Jack Chamberlain, despite giving away 6 on the 17th end managed to scrape home with a win 18/15. Unfortunately the team of Graham, Natasha and Chris Barnsby, who played a tough match and stayed in contention almost to the end, went down 15/18. The less said about the Challengers the better! Everyone enjoyed the day, especially the wonderful soup served up by Petra. We are at home again next week to El Cid Sabres.

What glorious weather we had to start the new League season when we played our first match against BBC Tigers. On rink four Natasha, Chris Barnsby and Graham Spurrier got off to a flying start by taking seven shots on the first end! They had a lapse in the middle but managed to stay in front all the way to win 18/17, well done as it was against very tough opposition. Also, on rink two we had Mal, Alex (new bowler) and Jack Chamberlain who had a superb victory against strong and very experienced opponents winning 19/11. The other two rinks also had very good games which resulted in the Jags losing overall by just three shots. Congratulations one and all and hopefully next week will see us getting an even better result against Javea Green Onyx.
